The Martha Circle was a women's service group meeting twice a month in the kitchen to prepare cancer pads from used sheets. Each sheet had to be torn, cut, pinned, sewn, and ironed, with each woman having her assigned duty to complete each pad. The completed pads were then sent to the Fire Department for distribution to cancer patients in the area. This group made an outstanding contribution to the community.
